Chief Operating Officer
Al Fields is the chief operating officer at American National Bank of Texas. He has been with the bank since 2002.

Al has over 40 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining American National Bank of Texas, Al was the president of a publicly traded bank in the Houston market. While there, he managed both the operations and lending components of the bank and assisted in the acquisitions of three failed banks and the purchase of three other banks along with the associated integration of systems, customers and staff. Additionally, he was instrumental in taking the company public in 1997 and the subsequent sale of the organization in 2001.
Al’s past community affiliations include: La Porte Chamber of Commerce president and board member, La Porte Optimist Club president, Deer Park Rotary Club director, La Porte Area Water Authority director, and many other civic related committees and boards.
Al has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas State University and he has attended School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and the National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma. He holds a Certified Lender Business Banking (CLBB) license from the American Bankers Association.
