A new phishing attempt is targeting American National Bank of Texas customers. This email is not legitimate it was not sent by American National Bank of Texas or any of its representatives. The ANB Information Technology Security Team is working quickly to take down the associated websites.
A sample copy of the illegitimate email is below. Please review it carefully.
Do not follow the instructions contained within this email or click the links contained within it. This email contains a backdoor Trojan. The Trojans intent is to install a backdoor utility that gives the perpetrators remote control access of the visiting computer. Since it is being used in conjunction with a phishing scheme against a financial institution, it is highly probable that this Trojan is capable of monitoring online banking activity and skim logins, passwords and screenshots.
