Economic Impact Payments
As part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) passed on Friday, March 27, 2020, economic impact payments (i.e., stimulus checks) will be available for distribution by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) starting in mid-April.
Payments will be made via direct deposit (if the IRS has your deposit information on file) or by mail via a pre-paid debit card (called an Economic Impact Payment Card or EIP). These EIP cards were mailed starting in mid-May by Money Network Cardholder Services and are issued by MetaBank (the U.S. Treasury’s financial agent). For more information about these cards, including how to activate, use to purchase or get cash, check your balance and more, go to: www.eipcard.com or www.IRS.gov/EIP. (For cash advances, contact us at 800.837.6584 to find the nearest ANBTX banking center available to process the advance.)
For most recipients, no action is needed to receive this one-time payment. However, if you have not filed your 2018/2019 income taxes (or are not required to file), you will need to provide some basic information to the IRS to ensure you receive your stimulus payment. Additionally, there are eligibility requirements as well as income thresholds that may affect your payment and/or the amount you receive.
For more details about the stimulus payments, go to the special section on the IRS’ website >> Economic Impact Payments. You will be able to get detailed program information as well as:
- Determine if you are eligible
- Enter/update your direct deposit/account information
- Check your payment status

As a reminder, ANBTX—or the IRS—will never email, text, or call you to ask for your personal or financial information (debit card or PIN number, Social Security number, online banking user IDs and passwords, etc.)
